You should always check the seller's reputation first. The feedback rating is important and it's quick and easy to read. You will find on every Ebay visit that the description page will have a box in the top right hand corner. The Sellers Information is here, which will provide seller's name, feedback score information, their positive feedback percentage as well as stars that can be earned.

The Stars

The various colored stars are provided by Ebay to sellers to reflect varying levels of selling. It goes: Yellow, blue, turquoise, purple, red, green, shooting yellow, shooting turquoise, shooting purple, shooting red. The shooting aspect is a sign of an experienced Ebay member who has a proven track record of trust.

Now, click on the seller's name. This will take you to the Member Profile page, where you will get more details tabout their reputation. Here, you will see the total number of people who have given them a positive or negative rating. You can see a complete history of all comments left about them as well. The most recent will be at the top.

I'm Looking For??

When you look at the numbers, you may think that someone with a very high number can be trusted. That isn't always the case though. You need to look at their positive feedback percentage. Anything below a 99% should be a red flag to you to investigate further.

Look at the first visible page of the transactions. Are there negative comments? What are they about? Make sure you understand what others have had to deal with, so that you can decide if the risk is worth it. But don't assume the buyer is always right. You should examine the timeframe of the negative feedback. Was it from a long time ago? What is their track record now?
